About Sunshine Coast Region
The Sunshine Coast is emerging as one of the most exciting regions to live, work and play with a innovation and sustainability. The Sunshine
Coast is the third most populated area in Queensland. Located 100 km
north of the centre of Brisbane on the Coral Sea coastline, its urban
area spans approximately 60 km of coastline and hinterland from Pelican
Waters to Tewantin. The area has several coastal hubs at Caloundra, Kawana Waters, Maroochydore and Noosa Heads. Nambour and Maleny have developed as primary commercial centres for the Hinterland. The Sunshine Coast district has been split into two local government regions the Sunshine Coast Region and the Shire of Noosa, which administer the southern and northern parts of the Sunshine Coast respectively. |
Regional Champion: Terri Waller
A visionary innovator, Terri Waller has selflessly devoted her life to nurturing collective movements that focus on self-sustaining intergenerational social impacts. Her passion for helping first began with teaching, however, a strong belief in empowering people to manifest their ideal selves drove her to find a new model of community development. Terri's achievements have been honoured by sitting on many executive boards, ministerial advisory boards and working groups and says that joining the Queensland Social Enterprise Council board is her happy place.
