The Shady Lanes Project uses internet communications technology (ICT) to create new ways of tackling environmental and social issues by linking many stakeholders into flexible, productive networks.
Our aim is to have street trees with an understory of native plants replace barren grass verges as the new normal. That will provide wildlife habitat, walkable streets, and cooler suburbs, especially in disadvantaged areas where urban heat is an increasing problem.
We foster projects where the conversion can be done by social enterprises - providing meaningful local employment.
