The World’s Biggest Garage Sale (WBGS) is led by an economic, social, cultural and environmental mission for community benefit. We divert landfill and maximise the value of existing goods in our economy, while practising social responsibility in our community. We are commercialising the circular economy through the activation of dormant goods for good, through the circular principles of recycle, repurpose, reuse, repair, renew and re-commerce, while giving back to local communities.
It’s about People, Planet, Purpose:
People - We work with local communities to facilitate the work we do at World’s Biggest Garage Sale, via large-scale WBGS Events, Pop-ups and Retail Rescue Sales; Social responsibility for us extends beyond the environment and circular economy. Our events are about doing good within our community, activating it for good, opening up opportunities for involvement whether through employment, training and volunteering.
Planet - Our customers provide dormant goods otherwise destined for landfill, and companies also provide obsolete/slow-moving stock, creating a new economy from unloved and unwanted new and second-hand goods.
Purpose - These dormant/unwanted/under-utilised goods that have been provided to WBGS, are then sold via large scale Garage Sale events, Pop-ups & Retail Rescue sales. Through these events we endeavour to empower vulnerable people by establishing a community and job opportunities giving people a sense of belonging and purpose while achieving environmental and sustainable impact.
