This expansive region encompasses six Local Government Areas (LGAs), Banana Shire, Central Highlands, Gladstone, Rockhampton Regional Councils, Livingstone Shire and Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Councils. Recent estimates for 2024 place the population around 241,735 and covers coastal towns, rural hinterland and remote inland areas offering opportunities for social enterprises that address regional challenges, deliver outreach services, and work with remote or underserved communities. Enterprises here can have high-impact outcomes by supporting regional sustainability, employment, and community resilience.
