Wide Bay Burnett region combining coastal towns, regional centres and rural hinterland spanning 48,599 km² with most of the land use being rural. The region has a strong sense of community identity and local needs. Social enterprises here can contribute meaningfully to social outcomes by focusing on regional services, local economies, sustainable development and strengthening community networks in less-densely populated areas.
Queensland Social Enterprise Council (QSEC) acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate, particularly the Yuggera and Turrbul people, as our staff live and work in Meanjin.
