Brick and Block Careers
The Australian Brick and Blocklaying Training Foundation (ABBTF) is an industry-led organisation established and funded for more than 20 years through a small national levy on the sale of clay bricks and concrete masonry, matched by Australia’s leading brick and block manufacturers.
The levy, authorised by the ACCC (renewed for 2024-2034), provides a modest base for targeted promotional activities but cannot address the scale of Queensland’s workforce challenges.
Through its workforce brand, Brick and Block Careers (B&BC), ABBTF has delivered impactful programs that attract, support and retain apprentices and is now planning new initiatives and expand this impact statewide.
In Queensland, ABBTF and B&BC works closely with DTET, RTOs, schools and local employers to strengthen apprenticeship engagement and retention.
