Creative Hearts Co.
Creative Hearts Co. is a grassroots social enterprise, community art gallery and creativity hub in
Brookwater, Greater Springfield, created to provide local people with more opportunities to participate in, experience and benefit from creativity.
The organisation is led by three local founders — Marie Ferguson, Hue Kedge and Sean Ferguson — who bring complementary experience across education, visual arts, performance, events, creative programming, business strategy, branding, sponsorship and community engagement. Two of the founders are practicing visual artists and one comes from a performance and events background. Around this core team is a growing community of artists, performers, workshop facilitators, volunteers, children and young people, families, charities, schools, community organisations, local businesses and corporate partners.
Since opening our doors in December 2024, more than 260 creatives have been directly involved in our exhibitions, performances, workshops and programs, and we have delivered 17 exhibitions. Participants range from first-time and emerging artists through to established creatives, performers and artists aged from four to 86.

Our Work
Creative Hearts Co. is much more than a traditional gallery. We provide a platform where people can exhibit, perform, teach, learn, collaborate and connect. Our program includes rotating curated exhibitions, creative workshops, homeschool and after-school art programs, artist-led classes, community events, Creative Coffee Drop-Ins, wellbeing initiatives, performances, corporate team building facilitation, and collaborative projects with charities, businesses and community leaders.
Our exhibitions are deliberately varied. Some celebrate local talent, while others explore themes including culture, wellbeing, inclusion, resilience and community stories. This allows us to bring together people from different ages, abilities, backgrounds and creative disciplines and gives the wider community opportunities to experience art in an approachable and welcoming environment.
Creative Hearts Co. originally began as a six-week pop-up at Orion Springfield. In December 2024, we transformed a vacant 428m² former gym into a working art gallery in just two weeks, with 15 local artists participating in the first exhibition. The response from artists and the community demonstrated that there was a need for something more permanent, leading us to establish our current five-day-a-week gallery and creativity hub in Brookwater.
As a social enterprise, the initiative is supported through corporate sponsorship, partnerships and significant donated time from the three founders. At its core, Creative Hearts Co. is a community platform built around participation. Three local founders lead it, more than 260 creatives have already been directly involved, and an expanding network of families, facilitators, organisations, businesses and community members contribute to and participate in what we do. Our grassroots initiation has grown into a community-led creative movement — proving that when people are given the space to create, connect and contribute, the whole community benefits.
